Add Bates numbers to a PDF in seconds
Stamp a sequential Bates number on every page for discovery, exhibits and productions. Set the format once, preview it, and save a stamped copy that's still searchable.

Three steps
Open Markup and tap Bates
Works on any PDF in your library, including documents you scanned with ScanMyPdf.
Set the format
Choose a prefix such as SMITH, a start number, 4 to 8 digits, an optional suffix, the corner or center position, size and color.
Save the stamped copy
Numbers are burned into each page and added to the text layer, so you can search for SMITH000041 later.
Continue numbering across productions
Set the start number to pick up where your last production ended. The preview shows the first and last number before you apply it, so ranges never overlap.
Combine with redaction and redlines
Redact privileged content, mark up changes and Bates-stamp in one pass, then save a single copy ready to produce.
Your documents stay with you
Numbering, redaction and export all run on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
